One of my childhood memories is of sitting in the neighbors mulberry tree, eating the mulberrys right off the branches.
This document box was hand made by the original owner from mulberry wood, a heavy grained softwood, not unlike chestnut. The top is not hinged, but lifts off. Box is golden in color and dates to the early 20th century.

1910 Oak Hoosier with Original Glass Jars

OK! This is one of the first! Hoosier founded the company in 1908. This is a 1910 Model 141 Hoosier Cabinet. It is dated in several places. It retains it original coffee, tea, and 5 spice jars. It has frosted glass doors above, aluminum pull out top, sliding shelf and pan racks underneath, an attachment bracket on the side for a meat grinder, apple corer, cherry pitter, etc. It has the original shopping reminder intact! In addition to its original flour sifter and bread drawer, it has a sugar bin as well! Cabinet has been completely dis-assembled and restored. You will not find a more complete, early cabinet anywhere any time soon!!
